Red Sox purchased the contract of OF Scott Podsednik from Triple-A Pawtucket. Scotty Pods will function as outfield depth for the Red Sox while Cody Ross recovers from a left foot fracture. The veteran was batting .323 with one home run and two stolen bases in nine games at the Triple-A level.
