Red Sox placed OF Scott Podsednik on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin. Podsednik hurt himself during Sunday night's game against the Cubs while grounding into a double play in the fifth inning. While Pods has played shockingly well for Boston, the Red Sox will happily swap him off the roster for the just-activated Cody Ross.
