Red Sox optioned RHP Brandon Workman to Triple-A Pawtucket. This is just a temporary thing. Workman started Tuesday night against the Mariners and wasn't going to be available for at least four days. He will pitch out of the Boston bullpen when he is recalled this weekend. Jake Peavy has taken over his starting rotation spot.
