Red Sox optioned RHP Brandon Workman to Triple-A Pawtucket. The Red Sox needed to clear room on the roster for the addition of Rubby De La Rosa, who will start Wednesday. Workman allowed five runs -- three earned -- over seven innings in a loss to the White Sox Tuesday. He'll be eligible to rejoin the rotation after the All-Star break.
