Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said after Friday's game that the club will discuss whether to shut down Felix Doubront. Doubront gave up five runs over four innings in Friday's loss to the Blue Jays. He has an 8.27 ERA over his last seven starts, so it appears that he has hit a wall. The 24-year-old southpaw has logged a professional-high 134 2/3 innings this season after after injuries limited him to just 87 2/3 innings between the majors and minors last year. His previous career-high was 129 1/3 innings in 2008 between Class A Greenville and High-A Lancaster.
