Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington told Jim Bowden of SiriusXM on Sunday that he doesn't expect to re-sign Stephen Drew before spring training. The Red Sox are continuing their dialogue with Drew, but it sounds like they're content to wait things out. Boston wants Drew back on a one-year deal, but agent Scott Boras is holding out hope that someone will extend a multi-year offer to his client. The Mets are also known to have interest in the shortstop.
