Red Sox activated outfielder J.D. Drew from the 60-day disabled list.
Drew has not played since July because of a sore left shoulder and more recently a fractured knuckle on the middle finger of his right hand. He's in the lineup, batting seventh and playing right field, Sunday night. It's not a great sign for Boston that they are thrusting Drew into action for the first time in two months during Game Two of a doubleheader against the Yankees, with a mere half-game lead in the Wild Card race over Tampa Bay, but here we are. Drew hit an anemic .219/.317/.305 over 233 at-bats earlier this year.
