Red Sox activated OF Scott Podsednik from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Pawtucket. This doesn't necessarily dismiss him as an option to be the 26th man during Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees. The 36-year-old outfielder has been sidelined since mid-June with a groin injury.
