Vierling was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to Tuesday's game against the Nationals. He is slated to start at first base, per Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

EDGE Analysis

Vierling went 3-for-7 with a stolen base and a run scored during his first two stints with the Phillies in June and July. He'll man first base Tuesday with Rhys Hoskins (abdomen), J.T. Realmuto (ankle) and Luke Williams (COVID-19) all out. Vierling will also be an option to play the outfield should he remain with the big club for an extended period.
