Fairchild was recalled Thursday from Triple-A Louisville.

Fairchild was optioned to the minors on March 20, but he wound up making the Opening Day roster in Cincinnati after all. The 27-year-old is currently positioned as a backup outfielder, though he could force his way into meaningful playing time with some timely hits in the early going.
