The Reds need an extra outfielder with Nick Senzel (knee) landing on the injured list. Heineman will likely be stuck on the bench for most of his time on the roster, as he's a 28-year-old with just 49 big-league games under his belt and an unconvincing .189/.259/.331 slash line.
