Ramirez was just optioned to the Padres' alternate site Wednesday, but with both Dinelson Lamet (forearm) and Keone Kela (shoulder) hitting the injured list the team is in need of bullpen depth. Ramirez has made two appearances with the club this season, but he is not expected to appear in high-leverage roles.
