Rays signed INF Jayson Nix to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Nix was non-tendered by the Yankees in December after batting just .236/.308/.311 across 303 plate appearances in 2013. He does have some speed and defensive versatility, but the 31-year-old will have to battle for a roster spot this spring in Rays camp.
