Rays signed DH Luke Scott to a one-year contract with a club option for 2013. Terms weren't disclosed. Scott, 33, is coming off surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but the Rays expect him to be their primary designated hitter in 2012. While he'll add some much-needed left-handed pop to the lineup, his power could suffer at the pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field.
