Rays released LHP R.J. Swindle. The 28-year-old hasn't had a bad year for Triple-A Durham, posting a 4.15 ERA while striking out over a batter per inning, but he walked too many (4.4 BB/9) and the Rays decided to give him the boot. Swindle has made just nine major league appearances in his career.
