Raul Ibanez blasted a two-run homer in an 8-3 loss to the Mariners on Tuesday. Ibanez's first two games of the season represent an exaggerated synecdoche of what you can expect going forward: He's 2-for-8 with five strikeouts, a single and a round-tripper. The Angels aren't expecting much contact -- and are expecting zero defense -- from their one-year, $2.75 million investment, but are hoping he's brought the juice of last season's 29 homers south with him from the Pacific Northwest. Twenty-four of those bombs came in the first half, so the jury's still out on the 41-year-old's ability to stave off biology once more.
