Rangers signed INF Luis Hernandez to a minor league contract. Hernandez posted a .612 OPS in 435 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level for the Mets and never made it up with the big club. He could conceivably compete for a utility job with the Rangers but will likely represent depth at Triple-A Round Rock.
