Ramirez pitched a perfect 15th inning Sunday with two strikeouts to record the save in the Rays' 8-6 win over the Twins. Ramirez will still start Monday at the Rangers despite this relief appearance, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The extended affair drained Tampa Bay of seven pitchers before they called upon the next day's scheduled starter for an unexpected closure. Ramirez probably will be capped for innings and/or pitches to some degree against Texas. However, the fact that he lines up for two starts during the coming week, capped off by a favorable scheduled road tilt with the Mariners on Sunday, still makes him a decent double dip option.
