The 26-year-old has allowed one run or less in each of his five starts in September and recorded a season-high nine strikeouts Friday. The Mets got to him in the opening frame after Brandon Nimmo tripled to lead off the game and Francisco Lindor grounded out to the shortstop to bring him home. Lauer has definitely solidified himself as the Brewers' No. 4 pitcher heading into the postseason, but first is projected for a showdown against the Dodgers next week.
