Gonzalez underwent shoulder surgery in August after he was claimed by the Giants on waivers from the White Sox. He posted a .241/.352/.423 slash line with seven home runs, nine stolen bases, 20 RBI and 24 runs scored in 40 games with Triple-A Charlotte in 2021. The Giants are deep enough in the outfield that Gonzalez is likely to begin the season with Triple-A Sacramento now that he's healthy.
