Putkonen was placed on the 15-day DL with elbow problems, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Putkonen has only managed two appearances this season, both with Triple-A Toledo, and has struggled mightily as he's allowed six runs over 1.2 innings. It's unclear exactly when he sustained the injury and there is currently no timetable available, though he's unlikely to make much of an impact with the big league club this season.
