Zimmermann (forearm) has progressed to playing long toss, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Zimmermann is on the 45-day injured list as he recovers from a right forearm strain. The right-hander hasn't been ruled out for the season and should progress to bullpen sessions at some point.
