Pirates designated INF Chase d'Arnaud for assignment. The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Brent Morel on the active roster. D'Arnaud, 27, hit .233/.288/.350 with four home runs, 20 RBI, and 17 stolen bases in 61 games at the Triple-A level last year after returning from thumb surgery.
