Pirates avoided arbitration with OF Travis Snider by agreeing to a one-year, $1.2 million contract. Snider was in his first year of arbitration eligibility. The former top prospect has batted just .241/.303/.398 over his first six seasons and could be a non-tender candidate next winter if he doesn't pick it up this season.
