Pirates acquired C Chris Stewart from the Yankees for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Stewart was likely going to be non-tendered by the Yankees after batting just .211/.293/.272 in 340 plate appearances this season. He'll be in the running for the backup job behind Russell Martin in Pittsburgh -- Michael McKenry being his primary competition.
