Pillar (thumb) played catch and hit off a tee Monday, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.

Monday marked the first time that Pillar has hit since being placed on the disabled list August 8. Although Pillar says that he feels good, Toronto has yet to indicate when he'll return to the club. During his absence, Toronto has opted to go with an outfield of Darrell Ceciliani, Melvin Upton, and Michael Saunders.
