Phillips (toe) will not be in the lineup Wednesday against the Braves, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The Reds have not provided much in terms of an update on Phillips, saying only that it was a left big toe injury that forced him from Tuesday's game in the seventh inning. However, the second baseman is reportedly no worse than day-to-day ahead of Thursday's series opener against San Francisco. Skip Schumaker came into Tuesday's game to pinch-hit for Phillips and would be a logical choice to get the start Wednesday.
