Phillips (thumb) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Pirates, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. Phillips jammed his thumb prior to Wednesday's game, causing him to be scratched. It appears the issue was minor, however, as he'll once again bat atop the Reds' order.
