Phillies placed RHP Mike Adams on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation. It's a disappointing development for the right-hander, who returned strong from last year's shoulder surgery. Adams has a 2.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings this season. Ken Giles was recalled in a corresponding move.
