Pedro Alvarez struck out all three times he was up Wednesday to finish with 180 strikeouts.

Alvarez hit 30 homers, and considering just how terrible he was in 2011, his 2012 was definitely a big step in the right direction. Still, hitting .244/.317/.467 at age 25 doesn't really scream future star. He batted .214 with a 34/8 K/BB ratio in 30 games between September and October.
