Like the rest of the Giants' rotation, Peavy benefited from leaving Arizona and returning to the cool climate in Northern California. Regardless, spring training statistics should be taken with a grain of salt when evaluating veterans with job security, as they are simply trying to get their arms in shape for the regular season. At age 34, Peavy doesn't seem like a very appealing option, but he should definitely be rostered in NL-only leagues and should provide value in standard leagues in the right matchups.
