Peavy tossed 5.2 strong innings Thursday against the D-Backs, improving to 5-4 as a Giant by allowing just one run on six hits with eight strikeouts. After going 1-9 with Boston and then struggling over his first few starts with the Giants, Peavy's turned over a new leaf -- or perhaps an old one. He finished one out short of recording his sixth consecutive quality start and has allowed just five earned runs in his last six outings dating back to Aug. 13. He'll draw another date against Arizona on Tuesday, this time in the desert.
