Peavy (back) will begin his rehab assignment Friday at Single-A San Jose, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports. Gutierrez noted that Peavy will be re-evaluated following his outing to determine the next step of his assignment. Given that he has thrown multiple bullpen sessions with no setbacks, he could be back with the Giants by the end of May if he progresses well through his rehab assignment.
