Peavy (back) was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports. Peavy was scratched from his first scheduled start of the year due to back stiffness and that stiffness returned Friday, forcing the right-hander off the mound after just 3.2 innings. The Giants have not provided a timetable for Peavy's return, but May 2 would be the earliest possible date for his activation. Catcher Andrew Susac was recalled to take his spot on the roster.
