Peavy (back) was knocked out of Friday's game after just 3.2 innings, surrendering four runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out two in the loss to Arizona. Peavy has been dealing with back stiffness early in the year and it has been affecting his performance on the field. While we expect Peavy to be a better pitcher when healthy, it is best to let him work out his early-season struggles on the waiver wire.
