Pearce will make his first career start at second base Friday against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Pearce will bat sixth in the order for the Orioles, but injuries have forced them to turn to him at second base as well. It may not be a long-term solution, but if he can prove the ability to play the position, his bat could make him an option in the everyday lineup.
