Pearce went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-1 victory over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
After whiffing twice and going 0-for-3 overall on Saturday, Pearce bounced back with his first multi-hit game of the season and first homer as well. The utility infielder thoroughly lived up to his designation in the three-game series versus the Yankees, playing at either corner in the first two contests, and then notching a start at second on Sunday. The 33-year-old's positional flexibility is indisputable, but more consistent offensive contributions the likes of Sunday's would go a long way towards likely affording Pearce even more opportunities. He's currently slashing a modest .257/.333/.371 line through 35 at-bats in 2016.
