Pearce is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Pearce heads to the bench for the first time since Aug. 26 on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he hit 3-for-31. That poor stretch of production isn't expected to result in Pearce losing out on a regular starting gig, but he'll likely sit more often in September with the Blue Jays eager to give more opportunities to some of their younger options. September callup Teoscar Hernandez will enter the lineup in left field and bat leadoff in Pearce's stead, marking Hernandez's second start in three contests.
