Pearce said he aggravated the injury, which initially popped up at the end of August, on a throw to second base in Monday's game. While he and the team are hoping the soreness subsides within a day or two, Pearce acknowledged that he may undergo a second MRI. The first baseman is not in Tuesday's lineup and should be considered day-to-day in advance of Wednesday's matchup.
