Pearce appears set to play multiple games at second base, according to MASN Sports. Pearce made his first career start at that position Friday against the Rays. He handled himself well, but he is still adjusting to a position he has never played in his 10-year professional career. The Orioles have few options with Jonathan Schoop and Ryan Flaherty on the DL. Flaherty should be activated in another week or so and that means it will be difficult for Pearce to get 10 games at the position to gain second base eligibility. Those that have five-game position eligibility might be in luck.
