Paxton (finger) has not yet been cleared to begin throwing, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports. It does not sound like Paxton is very close to returning to the Mariners' rotation, so an early-July activation might be the best-case scenario at this point. Mike Montgomery, who has pitched well in two starts, figures to stick in the rotation until Paxton or Hisashi Iwakuma come off the DL.
