Paul Maholm picked up his first shutout of the 2012 season, limiting the Mets to just three hits over nine stellar innings while striking out five on Friday. Since June 29, Maholm has very quietly been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball, compiling a 6-1 record, 1.18 ERA and 45/11 K/BB ratio over 61 impressive innings. He appears to be a very quality addition to the Braves rotation as they make a push for the postseason. If he somehow remains unowned in shallow fantasy leagues, now would be the proper time to pounce. He'll look to continue his recent dominance when he takes on Padres at home on Wednesday.
