St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is not in the starting lineup on Sunday afternoon against the Pirates. Goldschmidt had a good performance at the plate on Saturday, but prior to yesterday's game he had been mired in a 2-for-20 slump. Through 26 games this season, Goldschmidt is now slashing .234/.281/.364 with three home runs, 15 RBI and 18 runs scored. Matt Carpenter will replace Goldschmidt in the lineup Sunday, batting third against Pittsburgh starter Wil Crowe.
