Paredes reported improvement with his back injury Saturday but is still expected to start the season on the DL, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports. Paredes was swinging it well before going down with the back strain, hitting safely in each of his final five spring games. Unfortunately, since he last played Mar. 31, the team will only be able to backdate his DL stint to Apr. 1, making Apr. 16 an earliest possible activation date.
