Panik (concussion) is reportedly "as close to 100 percent as you can imagine", CSNGiants reports.
EDGE Analysis
Panik has been out of game action since June 27 dealing with concussion-like symptoms but is reportedly nearing 100 percent and could begin a rehab assignment this weekend. Giants GM Bobby Evans apparently wants Panik to get 15 plate appearances over four rehab games which, if he indeed begins as assignment this weekend, puts the second baseman in line to return against the Red Sox or Yankees next week. Before landing on the 7-day concussion list, the 25-year-old was beginning to hit hist stride, slashing .289/.344/.410 with 19 runs over his last 21 games.
