Padres signed RHP Josh Johnson to a one-year, $8 million contract. Johnson can earn an additional $1.25 million if he makes more than 26 starts. If he makes fewer than seven starts, the Padres will have the option of bringing him back for $4 million in 2015. The 29-year-old had an awful 6.20 ERA in 16 starts with the Blue Jays this past season and is coming off surgery to remove bone spurs from his pitching elbow, but he'll be in a great environment for a rebound. Look for him to be a very trendy sleeper pick in fantasy leagues next spring.
