Padres general manager Josh Byrnes said during a radio interview Friday that Yonder Alonso could miss a month with a fractured right hand. X-rays on Alonso's hand came back clean, but the club ordered a CT scan after soreness persisted, and that exam revealed the bad news. The Padres will continue to use a combination of Kyle Blanks, Jesus Guzman and Mark Kotsay after first base while Alonso is on the shelf.
