Padres and LHP Clayton Richard avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but it's likel to be in the range of $5.25 million. Richard was the last arbitration eligible player remaining in the league. Richard posted a respectable 3.99 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 2012, and is a strong fantasy option when used for his home starts at Petco Park.
