Owings (shoulder) will face live pitching for the first time since suffereing a shoulder strain in late June, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports. Owings played pretty well for the Diamondbacks this season before suffering the shoulder strain, batting .277/.313/.458 over 72 games with seven stolen bases and six home runs over the span. After live batting, Owings will need to participate in some rehab games before returning to the big league roster.
