Owings (shoulder) will continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Friday. As expected, Owings will jump to Reno after three games with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level affiliate. He could supplant Didi Gregorius as the top option at short as soon as next week, though there's an outside the chance the team leaves him down until Sept. 1.
